WESTBOROUGH _ In celebration of National Physical Therapy Month, Senator Michael Moore (D) presented South County Physical Therapy, Inc. (SCPT) with an official Citation from the Massachusetts Senate on Oct. 29, 2013 at SCPT’s Oak Street location in Westborough. The Citation honored SCPT for its ongoing and long-term commitment to providing treatment and industry education to its patients.

WESTBOROUGH _ A recent study that was presented at the 2013 American Medical Society for Sports Medicine is raising eyebrows and causing concern for parents with young children participating in sports. That study showed that young athletes who train intensively in one sport have a “significantly higher” risk of stress fractures and overuse injures, when compared to other athletes.
In the United States today, there is a much greater awareness of the fitness benefits for people over 50. Many baby boomers are working hard to make wellness a priority which includes eating right, exercising and taking care of themselves holistically in an effort to increase their chances for better health and longevity.
WESTBOROUGH _ October brings two important wellness topics to the forefront with Physical Therapy Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the physical therapists at South County Physical Therapy, Inc. (SCPT) have come up with an idea to merge both into a community education event.
To raise further awareness and health education, SCPT will be hosting an Open House featuring free Survivor Soft Yoga/Gentle Massage mini-sessions on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the SCPT Oncology Rehabilitation Clinic, 30 Oak Street, Westborough.
