WESTBOROUGH _ A New Year’s resolution to become fit and healthy is on many people’s to do lists. On Saturday, January 4, 2014, Westboro Tennis and Swim Club hosted its 9th Annual Local Business Health and Wellness Expo. South County Physical Therapy, Inc. (SCPT), a longstanding supporter of the Expo, offered free injury assessments, and introduced its therapists to the community.
“It’s always wonderful meeting people in our community. There was terrific information and numerous free giveaways and raffles. We’ve participated for the last seven years and feel it’s a great way to start off the New Year,” said SCPT Executive Director Eric Cardin. “Our company’s philosophy of total mind and body health is in perfect alignment with the Health and Wellness Expo.”
This year’s Expo was free to everyone who attended and featured 30 vendors. The first 200 who attended received door prizes, and there was face painting along with arts and crafts for the children who attended. Also in attendance were mascots from the Worcester Sharks, Boston Lobsters and New England Revolution.
“It was a fun and informational day for everyone, and a perfect opportunity for area residents to meet local businesses and learn ways to be healthier,” Cardin said.
SCPT is a dedicated partner to the Westborough community and over the years has participated in many socially-conscience endeavors. The physical therapy company has also donated to many local civic-minded organizations.
“At SCPT we feel being a visible and productive member of the communities we service is imperative. It is part of our core mission, and one that we take very seriously,” Cardin added.
