WORCESTER _ Empowering and addressing issues unique to women was the premise behind the Fifth Annual Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Worcester Women’s Leadership Conference.  On Friday, June 6, 2014, South County Physical Therapy, Inc. (SCPT) once again participated in this outstanding event which promoted women’s professional development and personal growth.

As a 100% female-owned physical therapy organization, SCPT is still privately held and led by its dynamic founder, Cathy Hoover-Smith. Hoover-Smith is well-respected for her knowledge in health, wellness and physical therapy. With an outstanding reputation spanning nearly 30 years, the practice specializes in many areas and is often sought out for offering programs, education and treatments which address the unique issues faced by women.

“We offer programs for men, women, and children, however, we recognize that women have issues that are unique to their gender,” said Cathy Hoover-Smith. “We were impressed with the energy level and regional focus of this Conference and were pleased to see many current patients attending.”

It also afforded SCPT with an opportunity to meet women in the community who were embarking on life changes, seeking to improve their health and well-being, and those experiencing menopause or who are faced with concerns pertaining to bone density and flexibility.

Recently, SCPT offered a free pre-season bike seminar for women to help them safely prepare for the biking season.

“We met many people at the Conference who have expressed an interest in women-centric programs and we’ve been happy to let them know we are already offering such programs and educational resources,” Hoover-Smith said.

A few of the programs SCPT offers that specifically address women include: pelvic floor rehabilitation; oncology rehabilitation; and dance medicine.

“We want people in the region to realize we are a resource for them. Whether you are a man, woman, or child, South County Physical Therapy is dedicated to providing each and every patient with quality, personalized rehabilitative care in an environment that is safe, comfortable, and compassionate,” Hoover-Smith said.

For nearly 30 years, South County Physical Therapy, Inc. has been dedicated to providing its patients with quality, personalized rehabilitative care in an environment that is safe, comfortable and compassionate.
