Auburn _ For the 21st consecutive year, South County Physical Therapy, Inc. (SCPT) took a leadership role as a Partnership Sponsor for the Auburn Chamber of Commerce’s Annual School/Business Partnership Golf Tournament. The highly anticipated fundraiser was held on Monday, September 21st at the Heritage Country Club, on 85 Sampson Road, in Charlton.
With higher education costs rising each year, finding financial aid resources for college bound students is becoming increasingly important. The College Board reports that the average yearly tuition for a private four-year college is $31,231, making higher education and its numerous benefits, unattainable for many individuals. In 2008, median earnings for a full-time worker with a Bachelor’s degree earned $55,656, while those with a High School diploma grossed an annual salary of $33,801, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
With the help of sponsors, participants, and the community, the Auburn Chamber’s Annual School/Business Partnership Golf Tournament is able to donate 100% of the event’s net proceeds to scholarships for students, member businesses, and mini-grants for teachers who strive to enrich the classroom experience through multifaceted programming.
“South County is a dedicated member of the Auburn Chamber,” said Eleanor Houbre, Director of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. “We appreciate their ongoing support.”
SCPT has been a steadfast community supporter for 30 years and among its many areas of expertise, the recognized physical therapy organization has a specialization in golf fitness. Several members of SCPT’s team are certified by the Titleist Performance Institute, the world’s leader in golf education and research. These certified therapists lead SCPT’s Fit for GolfTM program, designed to help patients improve their game and prevent injury. In addition, the program assists injured and post-surgical golfers in their return to the game.
“At South County, we have a passion for education, the community, and of course, golf, which makes supporting this tournament a natural fit. We’re honored to donate to such an important fundraiser, which benefits numerous college bound students year after year,” said SCPT Executive Director Eric Cardin.
