WESTBOROUGH_ For the third consecutive year, South County Physical Therapy, Inc., was proud to be a sponsor of the 30th Annual Corridor Nine’s School/Business Partnership Golf Tournament. The tournament took place at Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northborough on June 16th, with 150 participants teeing off for a great cause.
“SCPT is proud to continue its support of fostering education initiatives in our community,” said SCPT Executive Director Eric Cardin. “We love the opportunity to connect with local businesses while contributing to a great cause.”
The Corridor Nine School to Business Partnership Golf Tournament enables the Chamber to raise funds to award scholarships to graduating high school seniors from the Chamber’s core towns of Westborough, Northborough, Southborough, and Shrewsbury. Since its launch, Corridor Nine has awarded 438 scholarships totaling $314,231 to students in our region. SCPT donated 150 lunch bags filled with both a snack and a bottle of water for every participant.
“With the cost of education rising each year, SCPT understands the importance of scholarship opportunities from local organizations,” said Cardin. “Today, more students depend on scholarship opportunities such as those provided as a result of this tournament.” According to the College Board, the average cost of tuition for a four-year private institution has reached $32,405 a year. The average undergraduate has a debt of $37,172 by the time they graduate.
Golf has been an important part of SCPT’s history. Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructors lead SCPT’s Fit for Golf™ program, which provides expert care for those concerned about how fitness can improve the quality of a player’s game and is designed to help patients improve their game and prevent injury. The program also assists injured golfers in their return to the game.
“At SCPT, we have a passion for education, community, and golf. Participating in this tournament is a natural fit and we are honored to continue being a sponsor of the tournament,” Cardin added.
Through the game of golf, SCPT is committed to making a difference – both on and off the greens.
