Combating the effects and progression of decreased bone health requires a thorough understanding of bone structure and composition, DXA analysis, and risk factors that lead to diagnoses of osteoporosis and osteopenia.
The MEEKS Method is a comprehensive approach for the treatment of osteoporosis and osteopenia. This method of treatment helps patients:

- Improve strength and flexibility
- Decrease back and neck pain
- Decrease risk of falls
- Decrease risk of fracture
The Spinomed Orthosis is a back brace specifically designed for osteoporosis. This brace has been clinically proven to:
- Improve posture
- Strengthen back muscles
- Strengthen abdominal muscles
- Decrease back pain
Your First Appointment: Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment to allow ample time for your visit. During this visit, a detailed history and physical assessment will be performed, which will include a specific evaluation of your posture, balance, strength, and flexibility. You will be asked to complete the MEEKS Pre-Assessment Tool, which details your risk factors for osteoporosis. This form will be reviewed with you, as well as your DXA scan. The therapist will establish a plan of care for you and determine the frequency of your physical therapy.
Treatment Visits: Visits are generally scheduled one to two times per week for an average of six to 10 sessions. Sessions usually last 30 minutes. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing for all visits.
